Koh_Samui

Samui Island Koh Samui ('koh' meaning island) is the third largest of Thailand's islands, sitting in an archipelago of some 80 islands. The island is 25 km long and 21 km wide. The island has made a rapid move into the tourist industry over the years, with a mixture of fine hotels to beach huts to accommodate the visitor.

The island has long stretches of sandy beaches, all for those who just want to relax and soak up the sun. The busiest of which are located on the eastern coast at Hat Chaweng and Hat Lamai. Both resorts have the amenities for a whole range of watersports and are littered with plenty of tour operators to cater for your needs. Most of the island's nightlife is also centred around these two beaches.

For the more adventurous traveller, the island's interior has plenty of attractions to explore. There are two inland waterfalls at Na Muang and Hin Lad which both have crystal clear water and are perfect for a relaxing little dip. To get around the island motorcycles and jeeps can easily be hired at many places, or take a seat in one of the songthaews that go to all attractions.
